Highly Commended - Elmore Avant Garde

Title: Patteron's Cursed Goddess

Designer: Helen Williams

GARMENT DESCRIPTION
Helen Williams is entering her 2nd year in the competition and loves the challenge.  Along with her sister Leanne were grateful to achieve success with ''Banana Armour" last year.  This creation has been inspired by the panoramic views of the undulating country around Pyramid Hill in northern Victoria.  "Patterson's Cursed Goddess" is stunning in her vivid purple color, the same fabulous color that sprawls across the rolling plains around Pyramid Hill and Mt Hope when the noxious weed claims the land in full springtime bloom.  When it hasn't rained, the seed strike is reduced and the abundance of color is diminised but the show is still magnificent.  Items used to create the garment are red and purple bunch covers, red polypropolene, rope, shed flashing, rat wire, purple whipper snipper line, masonary wall plugs, red electrical wire and silver washers.

DESIGNER’S BACKGROUND

Helen Williams lives at Torrumbarry on the Murray River just out of Echuca and owns a soft furnishing business "On the Right Track" in Echuca.  Congratulations Helen on winning the New Zealand Ag Art Wear Competition Designer Section in June this year.  Helen had such a good time last year that she had to come back for more!
