Title: The 'Net
Designer: Helen Williams & Leanne Donne - Torrumbarry
Garment Description The ’Net was designed by 2 sisters. Since they have had the internet, life on the land has got easier. GPS for the tractor, ordering parts and lodging taxes online, weather forecasting – quick and easy access to all kinds of useful information! And since they had the other type of pink net lying around the place, they created a gown inspired by the revolutionary era circa late 1700’s and the time of Marie AntoiNET constructed from baling net, insect net and bird net to represent the versatility of The ‘Net and the resulting revolution in modern farming. Other materials used include fertiliser bag strapping and 300 individually sewn washers. Designer's Background
A joint effort by two women got their creative juices going and came up with an Ag Art Garment. One a local and the other from interstate were raised on a farm and have been creating “stuff” in all forms since they were kids. To be able to get together and contribute to the competition again has been fun.
