Why did you join the Committee?

I grew up locally on a farm in Echuca and have always been involved in the farming industry, whether through work at the John Deere Dealership in Echuca or at home. I feel like it is important to give back and be involved in the community and this was the perfect fit.

What is your favourite part of the Field Days?

It’s great to see all the hard work and preparation for the field days come together every year in October. I also enjoy getting out and talking to the exhibitors and learning about new technology or practices within the industry.

Role at the Field Days?

As Chair of Static Display my job involves preparing site allocations, dealing with expressions of interest and creating the final site map. During the field days I make sure every exhibitor is in the correct location, troubleshoot any problems and ensure for a smooth field days event.

How do you enjoy spending your spare time?

My partner Jo and I have 2 little kids, a boy and girl. We enjoy spending time on our farm as a family. My son loves helping out and driving all the machinery, while my daughter loves the animals and feeding the cows and chickens.

Why do you think it is important to get young people to join the committee?

I believe it is crucial for those who are the future of the farming industry to be actively involved. As the next generation start to take over the family farms and become more involved in the farming businesses, it is important to have fresh ideas and different perspectives to grow the committee so it remains relevant.
