Life Governor & Committee Member

I am also the Old Tractors Chair, involved with the Ag Art Committee and I help judge the General Interest area for the site awards during the Field Days.

 

Notable/favourite roles at the Field Days in the past:

I attended the first Field Days and have attended every Field Days since. I started with parking and went on to be Parking Chair, Demos Steward, Vintage Chair, VASA Rep, Assistant PRO, PRO, Senior Vice President and President in 83, 84 & 85.

I have also been involved with Special Feature. Committees, AgArt, Site Award Judging.

 

How many years have you been on the committee / involved in the Field Days for?

 I have been involved with the Field Days from the start and joined the committee in the 60’s. I was created a Life Governor in 1993!

 

Why did you join the Committee?

 I loved being involved with the Field Days every year and Bill Ayson got me to join the committee. The first meetings I used to attend were held in the old Fire Station, Railway Place Elmore.

 

What is your favourite part of the Field Days?

I like meeting up with the exhibitors, seeing the public come in and chatting to them every year and the committee mateship.

 

How do you enjoy spending your spare time?

 I enjoy going on holidays in the van around the country, especially to Port Arlington every year. I also like fishing along the way.
