What is your job? Fuel Distributer
Current role at Field Days?
Senior Vice President
I am also the Safety Chairman, and am on the Staffing & HR Committee, Budget Committee and Emergency Response Committee.
Notable/favourite roles at the Field Days in the past:
I have enjoyed the experience of every role I have taken on with the field days so far.
How many years have you been on the committee / involved in the Field Days for?
I have been involved with the field days since I was 12. My dad and brother were involved. We always went to working bees. I first started by helping with parking cars at the original site, that’s what my dad was involved in.
When I was older, maybe around 18 I worked a few years on the gate and I would help with watering the site roads at the original site each night until 2am.
I officially joined the committee 20 years ago.
Why did you join the Committee?
I had always been involved and enjoyed the good environment and community spirit the committee offered.
Along with seeing the success of the field days, it is a great social group to be involved in.
What is your favourite part of the Field Days?
Seeing the committee past and present and the members all work together to make this one event happen. It’s a good chance to catch up with people that you may not see except for this time of year.
My daughter, Sheryn is also on the executive committee of the field days so we get to spend a lot of time together doing something we both love.
How do you enjoy spending your spare time?
Spending time with friends and family, watching my kids play sports and getting involved with those sporting and community groups.
